Prepare your brief: Finished batch inspection

Start with the decision you need to make now. For “Finished batch inspection”, prepare four groups of information. Keep the current version of your materials and mark missing information as an open question rather than replacing it with an assumption.

Information for the review

Information for the reviewHow to record the starting data
items and quantityState the specific value, model or participants.
approved sampleAttach a document, description or calculation if available.
inspection methodRecord the date and version of the information.
critical deviationsIdentify constraints, discrepancies and missing evidence.

Agree the expected outcome

The discussion should focus on a report on inspected scope, deviations and inspection limitations. Clarify the subject, review depth, delivery format and actions requiring separate agreement. This checklist helps define the brief; the final scope is agreed when choosing the service and plan.

What should be clarified before work starts in this area?

For “Finished batch inspection”, first reconcile items and quantity, approved sample, inspection method, critical deviations. If materials describe different project versions, record the differences separately so the outcome relies on one agreed set of conditions.

What is needed before moving to the next stage?

Agree a report on inspected scope, deviations and inspection limitations. Keep the basis for the decision and unresolved questions. Timing and deliverables apply to the agreed scope; a similar project example does not confirm the conditions of your own project.

Product inspection

Find defects before payment and shipment

Avoid paying for defects that can be detected before shipment. We agree on an inspection plan, examine the goods at the required stage and record the facts for acceptance, a claim or reinspection.

Inspection report

The facts must be clear
to everyone involved in the transaction

A report on a completed inspection is a separate deliverable, distinct from a checklist purchased in the catalogue.

  • Date, location, inspector and agreed inspection scope
  • Batch, model, samples and sampling method
  • Photographs, video and measurement results
  • Deviations from the specification and acceptance criteria
  • Signatures, annexes and a list of limitations
  • Original-material archive and revision history
The report may serve as documentary evidence. A court or arbitral tribunal assesses its admissibility and evidential weight under the applicable rules; the outcome of a dispute is not guaranteed.
Languages, translation scope and any certification requirements are agreed in advance. Restrictions relating to closed operations or inaccessible areas are expressly recorded in the report.

Frequently asked questions

What to know
before inspection and payment

What am I purchasing in the catalogue?
A plan for preparing a checklist for the selected product, inspection stage and country: product-specific parameters, acceptance criteria, recording forms and a country-specific annex. This does not pay for an actual inspection and is neither a certificate nor a report on an inspected batch.
How do I pay for and receive the checklist?
Online payment is not yet available. Select a card, complete the request, tick the required consent and contact a manager. Payment is arranged through the manager, after which you will receive the checklist within the agreed time.
Why do prices differ?
The price depends on product complexity, risks, inspection stage and the country-specific annex. Key rings need a simpler plan; food, cosmetics, medical goods and equipment require specialist criteria and preparation. Site visits and tests are charged separately.
Can an inspection be conducted remotely?
Documents and agreed materials can be reviewed remotely. This is not equivalent to an independent site inspection: limitations on access, sample selection and fact verification are recorded in the report.
How is the sample size determined?
The batch, risks, parameters, acceptance criteria and a suitable sampling plan are agreed before inspection. ISO 2859-1:2026 may be applied to successive batches. There is no single sample size for every product.
Can the report be used in a dispute?
The report and original materials may be submitted as documentary evidence. Their admissibility and significance depend on the contract, how the evidence was obtained and procedural rules. Acceptance by a court and the outcome of a dispute are not guaranteed.
When is reinspection needed?
After significant defects are corrected, materials are replaced or the batch is changed, or when the initial inspection was limited. The scope of reinspection depends on the risks identified.
How does inspection differ from laboratory testing?
An inspection compares the actual goods and documents with the agreed requirements within a defined scope. Laboratory tests examine specific properties using prescribed methods. Composition and chemical or microbiological safety cannot be confirmed from photographs alone.
Methodological basis: sampling inspection · competence of testing laboratories · guidance on inspection and testing. Applicable methods and requirements are determined for the specific product.
